The Bavarian Tradition Show

18/8/08 - Three Weeks - 4 Star Review

"ON a cold, rainy, Edinburgh night, you could do a lot worse than joining in the fun with Vroni and her busty friends at the Counting House. Let your wonderfully dead-pan and rather likable German host guide you through all things Bavarian, from the art of beer drinking, to German-style dating. I thoroughly enjoyed clapping, yodelling and whooping along to traditional Bavarian songs, all played on Vroni's accordion. If there's one thing us Brits have in common with the Germans then it's a love of beer, so there really is no excuse for not indulging in this free show. Prepare to link arms with your partner, jump on seats and get down with the Bavarians!" (Rhiannon Smith)

Lederhosen-free zone

THE Bavarian Traditional Show is one that catches the eye. " Vroni Holzmann and her Bavarian friends bring you, direct from Bavaria, the best of ancient Bavarian Traditions, from pigsong to authentic cultural activities like getting up and sitting down again," promises the Laughing Horse Free Festival show. "There will be no Lederhosen. We prefer dirndl dresses and ample cleavages to leather shorts and thigh-slapping. Some stereotypes are better left at home when discussing Bavaria's rich cultural heritage." (Tim Cornwell's diary, Scotsman 11/07/08) [photo Eric Swanepoel]

Neue Liebe Cabaret March 08

On March 30th 2008 Vroni and Band played the Neue Liebe cabaret night at the Voodoo Rooms.
Mean Ronnie Woodman, as famous for his Blues and Boogie Woogie piano talents as for his grumpy attitude, was accompanied on electric guitar by Tall Andy Anaconda (of Sara and the Snakes), and the Mystery Rhythm Man who turned out to be Cammy the Man of Orkestra Del Sol ...
The big Bluesman was followed by Punk Yodel Anarchy entertaining the crowd with Bavarian Pigsong and Yodelkunst. [photo Eric Swanepoel]

Bavarian Traditions in Leith

Bavarian Tradition Songs were performed as part of the Leith Festival at the Neue liebe Night in Leith, Queen Charlotte Rooms 7/6/07. When calling for volunteers it was Vroni's lucky night : there was a Bavarian maiden in the audience...!
