Bavarian Traditions
Just like any other good culture we like to up-hold old traditions and rituals. Some of these seem to make more sense than others, but they all make sense to us.
Drinking: Beer for lunch, beer for dinner and beer in the pub. Beer for breakfest only with Weisswurst (Weisswurstfrühstück). Schnapps as a digestive after any given meal.
Eating: Leberkas, Brezen, Weisswurst, Schweinshaxn, Pferdeäpfel...
Speaking: The Bavarian Dialect is complicated. It consists of much grunting and swearing, and sometimes not saying anything at all. 'Eha' is an important word and can be used in most situations. Greet Bavarians with a 'servus' if you know them, and a 'Grüss Gott' if you don't. Say goodbye with a 'servus' if you know them, and with a 'Wiederschaun' if you don't.
Sneezing: If you see a Bavarian stuff their nostrils with a black substance followed by a mega sneeze just make a beeline out of there, as the next step will be that they offer some to you and it would be inpolite to say no. After this adventure your nose will be numb for a considerable time.
Windowing: The skill of succesfully wooing a Bavarian Maiden by appearing at her window late at night, possibly with flowers brought from the mountains.
Swearing: learn these words and blend in with a Bavarian crowd: Hagozare Grutzefixnomoi Dolecktsmidochoisamarsch Grutzedirndl Zefixhalleluja Birnbamundhollastaudn
